Decals:

The sheet contains decals for fourteen Republic P-47 Thunderbolt aircraft, six Mexican Expeditionary Air Force / Fuerza Aérea Expedicionaria Mexicana (FAEM) “Bubble” canopy P-47D’s serving with the 201st Fighter Squadron (FS) Escuadrón 201, 5th Fighter Group (FG), two FAEM P-47D’s serving with the Aeronautical Training Group / Grupo de Perfeccionamiento de Aeronáutica, an United States Army Air Force (USAAF) P-47D serving with the 41st FS, 35th FG loaned to the FAEM, three FAEM “Razorback” P-47D’s serving with the 201st FS, 5th FG and a USAAF P-47N serving with the 464th FS, 507th FG loaned to the FAEM.

 

Includes:

Black bureau numbers for the tail surfaces; Small Black aircraft codes for the nose surfaces; Larger Black aircraft codes for the fuselage of the two Grupo de Perfeccionamiento de Aeronáutica P-47’s and the 507th FG P-47. One or two part art work of a cartoon baby character in a bowler hat carrying a weapon for the 507th FG P-47. 507th FG aircraft markings in the form of Insignia Blue diagonal bands to be placed on Yellow painted tail surfaces; Spanish text in Yellow and White e.g. 201 ESCUADRON MEXICANO ISLAS FILIPINAS, for placing on the ordnance carried on the wing pylons. Red, White and Green vertically banded rudder decals and a set of Stars and Bars for the fuselage and the upper and lower wing surfaces in the opposite locations to the Mexican national wing surface insignia for the FAEM P-47’s.

Black Codes within a White Bar for the tail surfaces of a FAEM P-47, and Yellow Codes within a Medium Blue bar for the tail surfaces of the 35th FG P-47. Fantastic Nose Art in the form of Black “Lil Meaties MEAT CHOPPER” titles, alongside , and Black edged in Yellow “ME DARLIN” titles for the 35th FG P-47. Aircraft Markings for the FAEM “Bubble” canopy P-47’s in the form of Red and two styles of Black stripes to edge the scallops on the nose surfaces and a number of Thin White stripes to edge the Black Philippines theatre ID bands on the fuselage and wing surfaces. 35th FG aircraft markings in the form of Red and White horizontal bars edged on the right by a narrow vertical Insignia Blue bar for the rudder surfaces.

 

Aircraft Markings for the FAEM “Razorback” P-47’s in the form of Wide Insignia Blue and Red bars for the nose, the later has been “weathered”, and Red and White horizontal bars edged on the right by a narrow vertical Insignia Blue bar for the rudder surfaces.

Several styles of mission and victory markings over Japanese aircraft, Black pilot names, Black crew chief and Ground crew names, Red, White and Green banded propeller tip markings

One complete set of comprehensive data/stencils including data blocks, Red NO STEP blocks for the wing roots, Black data blocks, CANOPY RELEASE, JACK HERE, NO STEP, NO PUSH, Black stripes indicating a kick STEP etc.; two part Mexican national insignia for the upper and lower wing surfaces.

There are sufficient decals to complete one of the eleven P-47D Thunderbolt aircraft from the sheet in full, others using kit Stars and Bars and data/stencils.

 

Colors:

All the P-47’s are finished in natural metal overall.

The FAEM ‘Bubble’ canopy P-47’s have White noses edged by the Black or Red scalloped lines, provided as decals on the sheet, bar one with a Red nose. The 35th FG P-47 has a Yellow nose edged by Black scalloped lines. The Grupo de Perfeccionamiento de Aeronáutica P-47’s have White noses. One of the FAEM ‘Razorback’ P-47’s has an Insignia Blue cowl ring against which the Insignia Blue bar, supplied as decal, is placed.

The 507th FG P-47N has a Yellow tail and rear fuselage section. All the P-47’s bar the two Grupo de Perfeccionamiento de Aeronáutica P-47’s and 507th FG P-47N have the wide Black Philippines theatre ID bands on the fuselage and wing surfaces.

Also includes a very detailed double sided A4 black and white placement guide showing side, upper and lower profiles and black and white images of the actual aircraft and a second double sided A5 black and white data/stencil guide.
